Magic. The very word brings to mind fantastical beings and feats that cannot be explained. Or can they? Few have attempted to explain the origins and inner workings of magic as I will now, but I feel as though this theory may help with our understandings and study of magic.

Our Journey so Far #7: The Tournament
Our group returned from the Reach in one piece. Their arrival was met with recognition of their achievement from their peers in the guild, and heart felt thanks from Duke Kiddell. Though he was to leave them to return to his home in Wrenhollow, he offered them whatever help they needed in the future.

Lore: Parlas
Parlas was part of Midland empire until breaking with Harfal under the direction of: Paulier Finlux (descendant of a famous friend and ally of Trestin himself), Derran Temmin (A high ranking military official), Russ Ljonmane (a pre-judge Priest of Wyn), and Vinter Balentine (extremely wealthy merchant and banker). This event became known as the Treason of Parlas.
Lore: The Last Lands
The Last Lands are a more of a slang term than anything for the lands south of Sorhein. It is said that when the first Soldasi explorers made it past Sorhein (which, it is said that, more exploring teams went missing during the time period prior to the discovery of "Last Lands" than any time before or since) they expected to find ancient riches and new lands. Legend honors several different grizzled explorers with the discovery, and though none can agree on who actually discovered the lands, what is known is that he or she declared those lands "the last" upon entering, and turned back to Soldas, charting the first reliable path through Sorhein.
Lore: Rao
Rao is a wood elf word that means "Land of the Old Faith." After the Rima that split the elves of Soldas, the Wood Elves took to the seas and found the Island nation along with the Challis Raolan, Isla Soupan and Throne. There were some of the old men there, and other races, but the Wood Elves were not interested in conquest. Then, as now, Rao remains tied to feudalism and commune living.
Lore: Burdul
Burdul is a stretch of land between Polinskar and Harfal rich with mineral resources, and yet untouched by the ravaging ice storms native to the Polinar and Hel regions of Polinskar. Though it is more harsh and less fertile than the Skar, the Polinskarin barbarians valued the respite from the storms. Those of Harfal attempted incursions (and outright invasions) of Burdul, hoping to gain some way of making up for the poor metal reserves of their country.

Lore: Beimoor
The Beimoor was Trestin's first stop after the land that became his keep. When he arrived he found hills and small people who lived in those hills along with other representatives of the old men. The smallfolk accepted his room with little conflict, but many of the old men died under the power of his weaponry and fierce tactics.
Lore: Ouras Coast
The Ouras Coast is mostly made up of resettled (or native) Reachmen who accepted the Keep's rule. Taxes and laws are lighter. They have also had an adventuring guild established. Most of these nice-ities are to spite the Reach. Another difference is the distinct lack of mercenary groups, only farming and fishing as a means of income.
Lore: Faden Marsh
The Faden Marsh was once a part of Beimoor and the Aroegin Reach. A Lesserman Warlord from Overrun managed to force his way into the founded lands,H and set up his kingdom in Polinskar.. During the short reign of Gormag the Felhand in the Skar of Polinskar, he was eventually forced (with his lessermen followers) to Harfal, and took residence of the Marsh.

Lore: Brilhold
Brilhold is one of the countries of Turindal. Unlike the others, that primarily branched off of Harfal, Brilhold existed as a separate entity independent of the other Midland countries until it was taken over by Trestin. Brilhold originally was part of what would become Soldas until the Rima in the first founding.

Lore: Metavia
Metavia is a country that broke with Harfal during the signing of the Turning. Metavia is filled with rolling hills and forests. The primary residents of Metavia are the Hill Dwarves who migrated from Polinskar to the north during the first founding. Metavia is culturally similar to Harfal with some borrowed culture from the north.
Lore: Soldas
Soldas is the original home of the elves before the Rima. The high elves took residence in Bandis and Ninev. Evunilfa the Architect was able to unite the elves and make peace with the humans of the Darkened Shore and Plains of Esus. After the death of the human leader, Evunilfa was looked at to lead, and she then founded the nation of Soldas.

Our Journey so Far #4: The Doom Blades
As our intrepid party reached Trestin's Keep City, a name was finally decided upon. From that point forward, they were to be known as "The Doom Blades." Trestin's Keep loomed large ahead, and they noted on their approach that caravans were entering the Keep at slow pace. Once in line, Calaban went on a journey to find more information among the groups waiting to enter.
Job Board #4: The Doom Blades
In the corner of the party's room at the Adventuring Guild a white orb hovers over a pedestal. If approached, it glows in a warm light and displays messages for the group...

The group decided to accept the mission "The Lost Children" from Rolf. Rolf recommended that they not take that mission, and if they did, not to be too prideful to give up and come back. As they signed up for the job, they reunited with Francine, cleric of Sina.
