The order of Judges was first founded by Vesic the Holy during the second founding. It was found that heretics had been living in Lionsfurd, and had managed to corrupt many of Wyn’s temple. Vesic personally cut down all he found corrupt and was left with 40 true believers. Out of those 40, Vesic called 8 to be the first in the order of judges. He sent out the 8 in different directions to plant churches and destroy evil where it took root.
To be a judge, one must be pure of heart and mind, abstaining from alcohol and meat. The lesser ranks of judges tend to find themselves actively engaging in battle versus evil, where the higher ranks tend to lead and become spiritual leaders. Until a Judge reaches the rank of Magistrate, they are not permitted to have any hair from the neck up. It is at that rank they are allowed to grow their “mane.”
