Parlas was part of Midland empire until breaking with Harfal under the direction of: Paulier Finlux (descendant of a famous friend and ally of Trestin himself), Derran Temmin (A high ranking military official), Russ Ljonmane (a pre-judge Priest of Wyn), and Vinter Balentine (extremely wealthy merchant and banker). This event became known as the Treason of Parlas.
Parlas is the jewel of the midlands. Easily the best farming land, and central location including sea access. This has unfortunately made it a target by other powers and scheming. Parlas has changed hands several times over its history (both before and after being conquered by Trestin and the Treason of Parlas), being part of Harfal, Polinskar, and Soldas respectively at various points. Parlas' national anthem is "To the Free People," they are ruled by a parliament of Lords that are elected (though there seems to be some preference for strong hereditary lines). Recently, it has been rebuilding after the Seige of Parlas by the Red Lord.
Trade: Parlander wine and cereal grains are their primary trade goods, though they have some ore as well. Parlas trades closely with the other countries of Turindal and sometimes works as an intermediary between Brilhold and Dormar (who are often at odds). Parlas, due to its central location, is often a place where one can find a variety of different goods from around the world (including the Edgeland and North of the Skar).
Military: Parlas has a fairly standard military, with a former early Second Founding, major outpost against the Soldasi making an excellent training ground (Kynshire). The order of judges will often help with Parlas' military issues, and have especially made a name for themselves in guarding the Alin Gap in Dormar. Parlas' biggest weakness is a lack of capable military leaders, as Lords tend to lead their own people, giving a wide range in abilities.
Culture: The biggest difference from Harfal in terms of culture other than government is religion. Parlanders tend to only worship Wyn and Sina as their major religions, with other religions being free, but on the outskirts of society. Parlanders enjoy their freedom and pastoral life, but there are some who wish they were able to have more autonomy from the other countries of Turindal.
