Lore: A Unified Theory of Magic

Magic. The very word brings to mind fantastical beings and feats that cannot be explained. Or can they? Few have attempted to explain the origins and inner workings of magic as I will now, but I feel as though this theory may help with our understandings and study of magic.

Our Journey so Far #7: The Tournament

Our group returned from the Reach in one piece. Their arrival was met with recognition of their achievement from their peers in the guild, and heart felt thanks from Duke Kiddell. Though he was to leave them to return to his home in Wrenhollow, he offered them whatever help they needed in the future.

Lore: Parlas

Parlas was part of Midland empire until breaking with Harfal under the direction of: Paulier Finlux (descendant of a famous friend and ally of Trestin himself), Derran Temmin (A high ranking military official), Russ Ljonmane (a pre-judge Priest of Wyn), and Vinter Balentine (extremely wealthy merchant and banker). This event became known as the Treason of Parlas.

Lore: The Last Lands

The Last Lands are a more of a slang term than anything for the lands south of Sorhein. It is said that when the first Soldasi explorers made it past Sorhein (which, it is said that, more exploring teams went missing during the time period prior to the discovery of "Last Lands" than any time before or since) they expected to find ancient riches and new lands. Legend honors several different grizzled explorers with the discovery, and though none can agree on who actually discovered the lands, what is known is that he or she declared those lands "the last" upon entering, and turned back to Soldas, charting the first reliable path through Sorhein.

Lore: Rao

Rao is a wood elf word that means "Land of the Old Faith."  After the Rima that split the elves of Soldas, the Wood Elves took to the seas and found the Island nation along with the Challis Raolan, Isla Soupan and Throne. There were some of the old men there, and other races, but the Wood Elves were not interested in conquest. Then, as now, Rao remains tied to feudalism and commune living.

Lore: Burdul

Burdul is a stretch of land between Polinskar and Harfal rich with mineral resources, and yet untouched by the ravaging ice storms native to the Polinar and Hel regions of Polinskar. Though it is more harsh and less fertile than the Skar, the Polinskarin barbarians valued the respite from the storms. Those of Harfal attempted incursions (and outright invasions) of Burdul, hoping to gain some way of making up for the poor metal reserves of their country.

Lore: Beimoor

The Beimoor was Trestin's first stop after the land that became his keep. When he arrived he found hills and small people who lived in those hills along with other representatives of the old men. The smallfolk accepted his room with little conflict, but many of the old men died under the power of his weaponry and fierce tactics.
